Video

Here is a small collection of videos. Some are just interesting things I have found on the Internet, and others are of me, friends, family, etc. Some are goofy videos I have made using either footage taken with my video camera, the video feature on my still camera, or still images, and putting it together using “Windows Movie Maker”.

If you have Windows XP, then you have “Windows Movie Maker”. You can have a ball with this simple video program. Most of these were put together in 15 minutes. I know, it shows, but I made them just for fun.

One day I might explore video production more seriously, but for now, look forward to more generic looking transitions, effects, titles, and other beginner level video techniques.

You can click on the video title to view or download the video, depending on your browser. You can click on the “YouTube.com” videos and view right on the page. You can go to “YouTube.com” and upload your own videos, and also see all kinds of interesting and disturbing stuff.

Even with a fast Internet connection, these videos can take a few seconds to start playing. When you click on the “play” button it will say “loading”. If you click on the “pause” button and pause it while it downloads, you will get a much more pleasant experience when watching these videos. If not, the video play head will probably catch up with the buffering video and the video will stop and have to wait while it buffers some more. It’s better to just pause the video and let the complete video load. You will see a light grey bar going from left to right. That’s the video downloading. The black bar is the play head. So once you pause the video, you will see the light grey bar keep moving from left to right showing the progress of the loading video.

Enjoy.

Video IconHybrid - "Winter Violet" 9-12-07

(Hybrid) Doug Stouffer and I played our fist gig at “Mardi Gras” in Dallas, TX. The first show went well. We played for about an hour. The music has a laid back jazz feel to it. Some songs are pure jazz, and others live up to the band name, as they are a hybrid of styles. I even played a couple of my songs (“The same one and “Is this it?”), that seem to fit into the overall vibe.

This song is a twist on a Jazz standard that I can’t remember the name of right now.

Video Icon 24K - "I Gotta Know" 1984/1985??

I'm going incredibly old school here. 24K was a New Orleans band that I loved back in the day.

Video Icon Lillian Axe - "Picture Perfect" 1985
(Right-Click and choose "Save Target As..." to dowload video)

More old school. I started seeing Lillian Axe not long after seeing Zebra and 24K. I just couldn’t believe how many great bands were coming out of New Orleans back then. The Lafayette bands just couldn’t hang with them. There were lots of good musicians in Lafayette, but the NO bands had original songs, the look, the lights, the sound, road crews, etc. I know some of it had to do with my limited exposure, age, etc. but I thought they were the shizznit.

Johnny Vines - vocals
Steve Blaze - guitar
Michael Max - bass
Danny King - drums
