This was my first real band that actually played gigs. For the most part we just started off jamming and entertaining ourselves, but soon our friends started asking us to play at their parties. So we were a house party band. We probably played a dozen or so parties during high school, as well as many jam sessions that turned in to parties.
Chris and Rob's dad owned a company that had a big warehouse with oil fields stuff in it. So we would go there late at night and rock. People here and there would show up to listen and hang out.
We actually played once in a real bar, which was at La Papillon. Chris and I were not 18 yet, but we got in somehow. I remeber they had free seafood gumbo at the bar. Chris and I ate some, and it was awesome, but I remeber that I was wondering the whole time if the gumbo was spiked with acid. The other bands and guys at the club had a reputation for being acid heads, so I was waiting for the next hour for it to kick in... I was freaking out a bit. It didn't.
We played mostly covers, but we had about 5 or 6 originals. I can't really remember much about them, but a few years later Chris and I recorded one of the songs. I was in another band at the time (Mercenary) and Chris came over and played my drummer's drums (Rick Ward) and had my 4-track handy, so we threw this recording together. We hadn't played the song in a few years, so we were trying our best to remember it.
Here are some of the songs we played:
Two Tickets to Paradise
Running Wild (Judas Priest)
Fairies Wear Boots (black Sabbath)
Paranoid (black Sabbath)
Crazy Train (Ozzy Osbourne)
Surrender (Cheap Trick)
Fire (Jimi Hendrix)
Purple Haze (Jimi Hendrix)
I've got you in my dreams (Troy Thibodeaux)
Burning up the streets (Troy Thibodeaux)
Stealing the night (Troy Thibodeaux)
Jamie's Crying (Van Halen)
You Really Got Me (Van Halen)
Cheap Sunglasses (ZZ Top)
Waitin' for the Bus (ZZ Top)
Where Have all the Good Times Gone (Van Halen)
And, yes I know this is a bad recording, but it's all I have.
I've Got You In My Dreams

This pic was taken at party we played at my friend Lawrence Stutes house.
This was probably around 1984. Yes, I had a freakin Les Paul. I still can't believe I got rid of that guitar.
Chris Anderson with his CB-700s and Roto-Toms. Hell yea.
